DECONSTRUCT
THE FOREST
The Taiwan subspecies of the Eurasian Blue Tit, known as Cyanistes caeruleus formosus, is a unique species found only in Taiwan. It is commonly seen in the forests of Alishan. With its black head, white cheeks, and greenish-blue back feathers, it resembles a splash of color in the morning mist of Alishan. Its crisp and melodious call seems like the musical notes of a peaceful Alishan dawn, echoing through the forest with the wind.
It is often found at low to mid-elevations of Alishan, flitting through the upper layers of broadleaf forests, coniferous forests, and mixed forests. In winter, it migrates to lower elevations to forage for insects, silently witnessing the changing of the seasons, like a guardian of the mountain range
